How to Play Guitar Hero With an XBox Controller

  • Xbox 360 console

  • Xbox 360 controller

  • Guitar Hero for Xbox 360

Guitar Hero is a music video game manufactured by Activision. Ordinarily you play the game with a guitar-shaped controller that allows you to simulate playing in a rock band. The game is available for several consoles including the Xbox 360. You can use the Xbox 360 controller to play Guitar Hero. Using your Xbox 360 controller can save you money by not having to buy any additional devices to play.

Turn on your Xbox 360 game console. Press the button on the Xbox 360 disk tray to open it. Place the Guitar Hero game into the disk tray. Press the button to close the Xbox 360 disk tray.

Make sure the controller is fully charged or has new batteries before use. Press and hold down the "Xbox Guide" button to turn on your controller. Press the "Connect" button on the Xbox 360 console. Press the "Connect" button on the Xbox 360 controller. Wait for the green light on the console and controller to spin and flash once to show that it is connected.

Go to the Guitar Hero game. Use "LT" on the controller for "Green" in the game. Press the "LB" button on the controller for "Red" in the game. Tap "RB" for "Yellow" in the game. Press "RT" on the controller for selecting "Blue" in the game. Use the "A" button on the controller to select "Orange." Use the "Whammy bar" by moving the analog stick on the controller. Press "Back/Select" on the controller to use your "Star Power."
