How to Stream Video With a VLC Player
The VLC Media Player from Videolan.org, is a free, open-source, cross-platform audio and video player and transcoder, capable of capturing or setting up a streaming video for others to view on the Internet. This works by setting up a channel that others who have the proper web address can watch at any time. VLC Media Player can stream several video formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 videos and even DVD movies. You will need to choose between unicast (streaming to one computer) and multicast (streaming to several computers) before you begin.
