How to Update Acura Tl 2002 Navigation

The 2002 Acura TL features a 3.2-Liter V-6 engine, 16-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel independent suspension, anti-theft system and seating for five passengers. The 2002 Acura TL model has an optional touch screen GPS navigation system that can be updated as new software becomes available. Navigation updates come in the form of DVDs, available from Acura, and you can perform the update procedure yourself, without the need of a professional technician or help from a local Acura dealership.

• Navigation update DVD

1. Obtain an updated navigation DVD for your 2002 Acura TL (see resources).

2. Position your vehicle's ignition switch to the "ON" position, without starting the vehicle.

3. Open your vehicle's trunk and locate the rectangular navigation unit. Flip down the compartment door located on the navigation unit. Press the "Eject" button located on the unit and remove the old navigation DVD from the slot.

4. Insert the new navigation DVD into the slot. Close the compartment door and your vehicle's trunk.

5. Sit in the vehicle and watch the navigation screen for display messages concerning the update. When the navigation screen displays a message that the update has completed, drive the vehicle on an identifiable road in order to complete the update and synchronization process.
