Texting has become a fast and easy way to send a message to someone's cell phone that they will receive instantly if their cell phone is on. Sometimes might forget to charge our cell phone or leave it at home. But if you have access to a computer, you can still send a text message to someone without your cell phone.

Send a Text Message from Your Wireless Provider's Website

Open up a web browser and go to your wireless provider's website.

Log in to the customer area with your user name and password.

Look for a category on your wireless provider's website in the customer area that says "Send Text Message" (or something similar). Click on the icon. The text message box will be on the next screen.

Type the person's cell phone number and the message into the designated boxes. Press "Send" when complete. The next screen will confirm the message was sent.
Send a Text Message Using a Third Party Website

Go to a free texting website such as txtdrop.com (see Resources) or a similar website offering this service.

Type in your email address, the recipient's cell phone number and your text message into the appropriate boxes.

Click "Send." The text message will be sent to the recipient's mobile phone.

Tips & Warnings
If you have never set up your online account with your wireless provider, you will need to do so before being able to send the text message through their website.
