How to Reboot PC Remotely

If you need to reboot a remote computer that you are working on through the Remote Desktop program, you've probably wondered how to do so, since the normal restart option is removed from the computer's start menu whenever you log in remotely. To reboot your computer, you simply need to run a command in the Command Line application on the machine, which reboots the computer.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" on the remote computer and then type "cmd" into its Start Menu search bar.

2. Press Enter to open the Command Prompt on the remote computer.

3. Type "shutdown -r" and press Enter. This command causes the remote computer to go through a reboot cycle thanks to the "-r" flag on the "shutdown" command.
