How to Download Music Off of an Internet Website

Download MP3 music files directly to your computer.

Music is quickly moving away form hard-copy CDs to the digital format of MP3s. These files are downloaded directly from an Internet site and allow you to take the music on the go, without holding onto a large wallet of portable discs. Although the actual website you use to download the files may vary, the overall process of downloading the music to your computer is the same.

Instructions

1. Download iTunes for free from the iTunes.com website. Install the program and launch it. Choose "iTunes Store" from the left side of the program window. Type in the song, band or album title you want to obtain in the search bar in the upper right corner of the screen, then press "Enter." Select the file you want and click "Purchase Now." You are asked to create a profile, complete with username, password, email address and billing information. Submit this information, then choose "Purchase Now" again. The MP3 file will begin to download directly to your computer system.

2. Navigate to Napster.com, then click "sign up with napster." From here, select the plan you want, then fill in your username and password, email address and billing information. Submit the purchase and you are given full access to the website. Select the song or album you want to download, then click "Download" and the music content will download directly to your computer system.

3. Navigate to the Rhapsody.com website, then click "Try it Free." Fill out the required information, such as a username, password, email address and your billing information, then submit the content. Once your payment has been processed, select the album or song you want to download and select "Download." The music will begin to download directly to your computer system.
