DIY: Tri-Fold Brochure in Word 97

DIY: Tri-Fold Brochure in Word 97 thumbnail
Create a tri-fold brochure by properly formatting columns in Word 97.

Brochures are a way to advertise new products and services. A tri-fold design is one of several layout options available for a brochure. In this format, there are six different surfaces to write content on. If you want to design your own, use a program such as Word to format your tri-fold brochure. Word 97 has a column feature that allows you to format the document with three columns. You can then create your tri-fold brochure from this format.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new document in Word 97.

    • 2

Click "Format" in the top menu bar between "Insert" and "Tools." A drop-down menu displays on your screen.

    • 3

Click "Columns." A new window will open; choose the "Presets" tab. Select "Three."

    • 4

Click "Equal column widths" and then click "OK." Word will format the document so that three equally spaced columns exist.

    • 5

Click "Insert" and select "Column breaks" to create the second page of your brochure.

    • 6

Type your brochure information into the columns. Add pictures or clip art where appropriate.

    • 7

Print the document. Fold the document to create the tri-fold brochure.
