How do I Pay for a Wii on a Monthly Payment?

The Nintendo Wii is a video game console that uses motion technology to allow people to play video games using a special controller and their arms. The Nintendo Wii, as with other video game consoles, is an expensive purchase that you may not be able to afford all at once. If you cannot afford to purchase the Wii right away but wish to own one, you can pay for a Wii with monthly payments by entering a rent-to-own agreement or by purchasing it on credit.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate a store that sells Nintendo Wii video game consoles that also allows you to make monthly payments. Stores such as Rent-A-Center and Fingerhut allow you to purchase a Wii with monthly payments. Rent-A-Center allows you to begin your Wii purchase using its website, and then you must go to one of the store's physical locations; stores such as Fingerhut allow you to purchase items online only.

    • 2

Select the Nintendo Wii on the company's website and proceed with the purchase, or visit the physical store and take the Nintendo Wii to the cashier. Provide any information that is requested in store or on the website. The Rent-A-Center website allows you to begin providing information to complete the necessary rental agreement prior to entering the store's physical location. You must provide your address, three references and the name and address of your employer or other proof of income.

    • 3

Complete the rental contract or credit application and begin making payments. In order complete your purchase, you must complete a credit application with Fingerhut or complete the "Rental Agreement" with Rent-A-Center. Stores such as Rent-A-Center are "rent-to-own" establishments that will not let you own the Wii until you have made the final payment. Stores such as FiNGERHUT allow you to purchase the Nintendo Wii on the credit that they provide to you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stores such as Sears, K-Mart and Best Buy allow you to put the Nintendo Wii on layaway. These stores require you to make payments twice per month.

  • Due to the nature of the financing agreement or rental agreement, you will pay considerably more for the Nintendo Wii over the life of the contract than you would purchasing it from a store for the retail price.
