How to Fold Down the Mirror in a Mazda CX-9

The Mazda CX-9 has folding side mirrors. Folding these mirrors allows you squeeze through tight spaces that might otherwise damage your mirror, such as narrow alleyways or automatic car washes. The folding process is manual, as the mirror post does not have any type of motor or mechanism that allows you to fold it electronically. However, folding the mirrors is a simple process that requires little effort.

Instructions

1. Step outside of your CX-9. Close the door.

2. Stand beside the front fender behind the side mirror. The glass part of the mirror should be pointing away from you.

3. Grasp the side mirror with both hands. Firmly push the mirror forward, until it folds against the Mazda's door.

4. Step to the other side and repeat the process, if necessary. To bring the mirrors back to their normal position, stand behind them and pull them back into place gently.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't drive with the mirrors folded. You'll be unable to see the mirrors when they are folded.
