How to Paste One Picture Onto Another in Photoshop
During special occasions, you may take lots of pictures to help remember the event. Using Photoshop to scrapbook these pictures allows you to be creative with your photos. If many of the pictures you take are similar, you can add one picture to another picture, which helps to highlight or focus on the central item in your picture.
Instructions

1
Open Photoshop. Open the folder with the pictures you plan on working with. Double-click on the picture you want as your main background picture.
-
2
Right-click on the layer in the Layers pallet. Click on the "Duplicate Layer" button. Rename that layer and click "OK." Delete the background layer--that is the original photo, and you never want to work with the original. Always work with a copy or duplicate of the photo.

3
Edit the photo now if you are planning to do anything creative with it. Editing before you bring in your next picture will make it easier than working with both photos at the same time. Save your work.

4
Click on the "Open" button and locate the next picture you want to work with. Double-click on that photo to open it in Photoshop. When the photo loads, right-click on that photo in the Layers pallet. Click on "Duplicate Layer" and rename this layer. Delete the original photo by deleting the background layer in the Layers pallet.

5
Press the "Ctrl" and "T" keys at the same time to activate "Free Transform" so you can resize your picture. You will see the transform boxes at each corner of your picture and in the middle of each side of the picture. These are the handles you will use to make your picture the correct size
-
6
Place your mouse on one corner of the picture. When it turns into a double-ended arrow, hold down on the "Shift" key on your keypad and drag the corner of the picture toward the middle. Your picture will resize and keep the correct proportions. If you let up on the "Shift" key, your picture will become distorted.

7
Save your work. Press the "Ctrl" and "A" keys at the same time to select your picture on your work screen. You will get the "marching ants" all around your picture. Press "Ctrl" and "C" to copy your image.
-
8
Click the minimize button at the top right of your work area. You will now have your first picture on your screen. Press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time to paste your copied picture into the middle of the screen. Click and drag your small picture where you want it on your background picture. Save your work.
