Compare exercise equipment to find the best for you

The Total Gym is a line of exercise machines used for Pilates, stretching, and strength training. It was created by EFI Sports Medicine Inc. in 1974 and is seen most often on infomercials through television advertising. The equipment uses duplications of regular movements of the body with and against gravity. It uses gravity by the weight of the user as resistance in order to complete up to 50 exercises.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to exerciseequipmentexpert.com to discover the specifications and capabilities of each machine.

    • 2

Compare the sizes of each of the machines. Notice that both machines are 84" in diameter, 40" in width, and 83" in height.

    • 3

Discover the number of exercises you can complete with each machine. Each machine allows you to do up to 50 different exercises.

    • 4

Check to see what type of weights these use. Both use only the weight of the user's body as resistance. No weights are used.

    • 5

Compare the special features. The Total Gym Supra Pro comes with no extra features but the Total Gym 1700 comes with a Pilates bar, weight bar, and a dip bar.

    • 6

Go to a website such as Amazon and EBay to compare prices. You will notice that the Total Gym 1700 is more expensive than that Supra Pro. This clearly is because of the extra features.

Tips & Warnings

  • Because neither of these machines are being produced by EFI Sports, you will have to purchase these products from an internet site such as EBay or Amazon.
