How to Search Using an IP Address

An IP address, or Internet protocol address, is a number assigned to your computer each time you connect to the Internet. Many websites use IP addresses to calculate statistics about web traffic. An IP address search can offer basic information about the user behind that address such as general location, host name, Internet service provider, language and which operating system and browser are being used. IP addresses appear in varying formats with periods like this: 123.456.789.100
