    • 2

Pour 1 ounce of cool water into the water chamber of the Briel Sintra Auto Espresso Machine. For every shot of espresso, you will need 1 ounce of water. The Briel Sintra Auto Espresso Machine can make a maximum of four espresso shots at one time.

    • 3

Scoop 1 tbsp. of ground coffee, for every ounce of water used, into the filter basket inside the porta-filter. The porta-filter hangs underneath the machine and looks like a tiny sauce pan.

    • 4

Attach the porta-filter back to the machine.

    • 5

Place the glass carafe under the espresso side of the machine, which is the right-hand side. You may also use a coffee cup instead of the carafe.

    • 6

Turn the espresso machine on. Once the green light comes on, watch for a brown-colored foam to pour out into the carafe. Remove the carafe once the foam becomes white as this means it is finished.

    • 7

Pour a small amount of milk or water into a separate metal container and hold it up to the steaming wand. Turn the steaming wand on and wait for the green light to come on. Once the green light goes on, slowly move the container around in a circular motion to steam the milk or water. Pour the steamed milk or water onto the top of the espresso.
