How to Access Any Website Proxy
If your access to certain websites is restricted, you want to access region-specific content that you are blocked from in your current location or you just want to shield your true IP address, it's a good idea use a proxy server. A proxy server acts as an intermediary filter between your computer and the server of the website you're requesting information from. It will appear outwardly that you are accessing the Internet from the location of the proxy. The server that you ultimately connect to will be presented with the proxy's IP address.

1
Establish what you require from a proxy server. To shield your true IP address you can use a proxy server based anywhere in the world. If you need to access a website that is restricted to users accessing the Internet from a specific country or region, find a proxy with an IP address from that country or region.

Find a proxy server (see Resources). There are a number of websites that offer free proxy services and some that charge. Free services can be unreliable and suffer frequent downtime and outages or be hosted by sites that carry malware or other malicious code. Reliable paid-for services include "Hide IP Soft," "Hide My IP," "Hide My Ass" and the "Anonymous Browsing Toolbar," although these are just some of the many proxy solutions available to download from the Internet.

Connect to the proxy server. Some services offer a portal service where the address of the website requested is entered into an address box on a Web page. These tend to be particularly sluggish and unreliable. Services that are paid for will either require the download of software or the manual entry of proxy details into your browser's "Connection"/"Settings" menu, which is usually found in either "Properties" or "Options" on the toolbar depending on the browser being used.
-
4
Surf the Internet. All requests sent from the browser routed through the proxy will now be filtered. The server receiving a request for information will receive the proxy's IP address and treat the request as having originated from the location of the proxy.

Tips & Warnings
It's worth taking the time to search for a reliable service if the proxy is going to be used frequently.
Only requests sent through the browser routed through the proxy will present the proxy's IP address. Other browsers and programs, including peer-to-peer software, will show your true IP address.
