How to Make Homemade High School Graduation Invitations
Graduation is a milestone for a high school student that allows him to celebrate with loved ones. Invitations ordered or purchased from a store can cost a lot of money. Instead of using invitations from a store, you can make your own to cut back on costs. Saving money on invitations will allow you to spend more money on the party or the graduate, making the day more memorable.

1
Open a word-processing program on your computer. Set the paper size to your preferred setting, or leave the setting at 8 1/2 by 11 inches for a standard sheet of paper.
-
2
Select a font that guests can read easily. You may want to experiment with font sizes and styles. Choose an elegant, yet legible font.
-
-
3
Start with an opening sentence that invites guests to celebrate the graduate's accomplishment. You can start with a sentence such as, "The Senior Class of 2012 at Gilligan High School announces its graduation exercises June 3, 2012, at Gilligan High School, Gilligan, Kentucky."
-
4
Add important details on the invitation. Inform guests of the start time for the event and add directions for those who are not familiar with the area.
-
5
Inform guests to RSVP to the event. Include RSVP details such as a phone number or an address.
-
6
Include a sentence about where the high school graduate plans to continue his education or what he plans to do with his life. This may read, "John will continue his education in the fall at Strickland University."
-
7
Print the invitations out on card stock. Select a card stock such as parchment paper or a lighter color to represent a diploma or other formal document.
-
8
Roll the invitation up carefully and evenly, or fold or cut to the size you want. Seal the invitation with a sticker, and then tie ribbon around it with the school colors. Fold the invitations carefully if you are mailing them so that you do not crumple the paper. Hand-deliver the invitations to friends and relatives who live nearby.
