Vista Won't Install My DVD Device Driver
When any new piece of hardware is added to your computer, a driver is required to allow the software to communicate with the hardware. Windows Vista automatically detects new hardware and attempts to locate the driver so that it may be automatically installed. If Windows is unable to locate the driver, it can usually be installed using the software included with the device's original packaging, or using drivers downloaded from the manufacturer's website. Because the DVD drive is unable to be installed, you must download the drivers from the hardware manufacturer's website to complete the installation.
