How to Check a Registered Domain Name
You can check a registered domain name to find out who owns the domain, the domain's registration and expiration dates and the domain host. Knowing a domain's owner comes in handy if you need to contact a domain owner for business transactions, or in the event your intellectual property is stolen and displayed on a particular website. All domain owners must supply their phone number and address to register a domain, but many domain owners don't want their personal contact information available to the public. As a result, domain name registrars offer a special service to keep personal information private. So if a domain owner uses a private registration, it will become more challenging to find his contact information.
