How Adjust the Dishnet Satellite Single 500

How Adjust the Dishnet Satellite Single 500 thumbnail
The Dishnet satellite must be aimed using the satellite receiver.

The Dishnet Satellite Single 500 must be adjusted through elevation and azimuth orientation alterations (up and down and left and right movements, respectively) in concert with use of the satellite receiver's signal meter screen, which guides your adjustments. Successful dish adjustments require both proper dish placement and correct receiver installation. This can be accomplished using nothing more than the included RCA cable.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure the Dishnet Satellite Single 500 can be set up in an area that lacks any obstructions in the sky, such as trees and power lines. The prospective mounting area for the Dishnet satellite should be free of all debris.

    • 2

Point the Dishnet satellite to the southern sky above if you are in the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, point it to the northern sky. Precision adjustments will be made later.

    • 3

Run the coaxial cable from the back of the Dishnet's mast inside to your satellite dish. Connect it to the ANT IN port on the back of the receiver.

    • 4

Plug the Dishnet receiver into your TV. Use the included RCA cable to make the connection. Each end of this cable has a set of three prongs, one red, one white and one yellow. Plug these prongs into the red, white and yellow ports on the back of the receiver and the back of the TV.

    • 5

Plug the Dishnet receiver into your power source using the power cord. Power on the receiver and the TV. Select the "Signal Meter Screen" option.

    • 6

Return to the Dishnet satellite outside and have a friend stationed by the signal meter screen. This screen will provide real-time updates as you make adjustments to the dish and guide you toward pointing the satellite to the correct coordinates.

    • 7

Adjust the Dishnet satellite by altering the elevation, or up/down orientation, of the device. Wait five to 10 seconds until your friend reports back from the signal meter screen, which will update after each adjustment and guide you further, until the proper coordinates are hit.

    • 8

Adjust the Dishnet satellite by altering the azimuth,or left/right orientation, of the device. Wait again for receiver updates, and make dish adjustments accordingly.
