A true athlete won't want to overindulge on New Year's Eve. Keep the celebrating, and the drinking, to a minimum. Turn in early and plan an extraordinary early-morning activity to welcome the new year.

  • Climbing Harnesses
  • Lead Ropes
  • Rope Bags
  • Ropes
  • Surfboard Racks
  • Surfboards
  • Wet Suits

Step1
Figure out what new and interesting activity your favorite athlete would like to try.
Step2
Go to your favorite Internet search engine.
Step3
Conduct a search on "surfing," "mountain climbing" or whatever the appropriate activity may be.
Step4
Organize a special athletic event for the first day of the year based on the information you find.
Step5
Toast to the new year in a simple way with one glass of champagne the night before your big adventure.
Step6
Drive the athlete to the location where the special event will take place on the morning of January 1.
Step7
Surprise him or her by not telling what's going on until you reach your destination.
Step8
Try to be in the water, on the mountain or on the trail as the sun comes up.
