How to Temporarily Dye Your Hair With Kool Aid
Those colorful packets of powdered drink mix that kids love so much have found a new purpose. Powdered drink mix is popular as a hair dye, turning the hair a variety of unusual hues. Although dark hair won't be markedly changed with the application of powdered drink mix, blond hair will take on dramatic effects, depending on the color of the powder. Your new hair color won't be permanent, but the shade will last for several shampoos. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Spread a thin coating of petroleum jelly on the skin around your hairline, including your ears, to prevent the dye from staining your skin.
-
2
Place 2 to 3 packets of plain, unsweetened powdered drink mix in a small mixing bowl. Avoid powdered drink mixes with sugar substitutes. Add water a few drops at a time, stirring until the mixture forms a paste. Stir in 3 to 4 drops of your favorite hair conditioner, then mix until the mixture is smooth and lump free.

-
3
Massage the paste into your hair, evenly covering the hair. Gather your hair on top of your head and cover your head securely with plastic wrap. Secure the plastic wrap with several pieces of clear tape.
-
4
Leave the powdered drink mix in your hair for several hours, or overnight. Shampoo your hair, apply conditioner, and then wash your hair one more time. Comb your hair and allow it to dry. The color will appear lighter when your hair is dry.
