How to Get Text Box Images to Convert to Dreamweaver MX
Dreamweaver MX, also known as Dreamweaver 6, was introduced in mid-2002 by Macromedia. This was a few years prior to Adobe purchasing Macromedia and incorporating Dreamweaver and Flash into the Adobe family of products. Dreamweaver MX added several new features to Dreamweaver's capabilities, including extensive CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) support, ActionScript (the scripting language of Flash) and support for ASP (Microsoft's Web scripting language). This included the means to get text box images to convert to either graphic text or graphic images from other programs.
Instructions
-
-
1
Open a new document in Dreamweaver MX. Save the file before importing any graphics.
-
2
Confirm that your image is an acceptable Web format: JPG, GIF or PNG. At the least, re-name the file to be imported to one of those extensions.
-
-
3
Import the file in-line (where the cursor is blinking on the page), into a table cell or into a Layer (div). If you can't reduce the file size before importing, change the height and width in the HTML code or in the Property Inspector.
-
4
Select "Code view" or "Design + Code view" in the Dreamweaver MX document. Click on the imported text box image and then change its values in the Property Inspector or the width and height values between the quote marks in the highlighted HTML code section.

Tips & Warnings
Always test Dreamweaver Web design work in a variety of browsers, although Dreamweaver MX includes settings to help you target specific browser compatibility.
Changing image size within the Dreamweaver code does not reduce the file size for viewing on the Web. Try to edit any image to manageable Web-viewing size before importing it into Dreamweaver MX.
