Eye glasses are probably going to be the most expensive piece of glass you'll every buy. They definitely will be your most important. Without them, you may not be able to read your favorite book or maybe even drive! The importance your eye glasses have means you have to take extra precautions to prevent damage. One way you can accidentally cause damage to your glasses is by improperly cleaning them. Cleaning foggy and hazy glasses is actually quite simple. All you need is warm water, dish soap and a microfiber cloth to make your lenses as good as new. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Microfiber cloth
  • Warm water
  • Dish soap
  • Lens spray

Instructions

  1. Cleaning Foggy Eye Glasses

    • 1

      Run warm water over both sides of the lenses.

      Wet a microfiber rag with the warm water and place a small amount of mild dish soap on the rag.

      Wipe both sides of the lenses using a gentle circular motion. Stop when all the haziness has been removed. Make sure to hold the glasses frame gently so you don't bend it accidentally.

      Gently dry the lenses off with another microfiber rag or with any dry portion of the rag you already used.

      Check all the screws in the glasses to make sure none of them have come loose. If they have, use an eye glasses repair kit to tighten them.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use lens cleaner if you're uncomfortable using soap on your glasses. Lens cleaner is specifically made for eye glasses and can be bought at most stores that sell glasses. A mild dish soap should be suitable for a vast majority of glasses, though.
