How Do I Make a Christmas Tree Pin From Plastic Beads?
Many people who celebrate Christmas festoon their homes, workplaces and even the clothes they wear with Christmas cheer. Celebrate the spirit of the season by handcrafting a Christmas tree pin from plastic beads; wear your pin everyday or just during your Christmas shopping or holiday party, or wrap it up and give it to a friend who will appreciate a handmade gift.
Things You'll Need
- Green plastic beads, small sizes
- 10 pearl-ended corsage pins
- Small foam ball, about ½ inch in diameter
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue stick
- Pin back
- Paint pen, pearlescent white
Instructions

1
Thread your beads onto the corsage pins, through the end that comes to a pin-point; the pearl end of the pin should keep the beads from slipping off the pin's other side. Leave the last 1/4 inch of the pin's pointed end free of beads.

2
Press the pointed ends of the beaded corsage pins into the bottom center of the foam ball. Fan out the pins as you stick them into the ball to create a flat, triangular shape.

Load a hot glue stick onto your hot glue gun. Plug the gun in and heat it up. Dab a dot of hot glue at the bottom of your ball where the pins are attached to it; place your glue dot at the backside of your work. Allow the glue dot to harden.

Dab hot glue onto the flat side of your pin back, which faces away from the actual pin hardware. Attach the glued side of your pin back to your Christmas tree's back side, towards the top middle. Allow your hot glue to cool and harden.

5
Cover your foam ball with pearlescent white paint, using your paint pen.

Tips & Warnings
Create an assortment of Christmas tree pins using different colors for your beads. Keep your colors to traditional Christmas colors, such as red, gold, silver and white so that the pin's triangle shape still looks like a Christmas tree.
Use caution with your hot glue gun; the metal tip gets extremely hot.
