How to Fold a Napkin Into a Rabbit

Elaborately folded napkins add character to a dinner table. Napkins can be folded into many shapes, such as pyramids, fans, birds, flowers, and even neckties and ice cream cones. Folding napkins into a rabbit shape can be a fun way to enhance a table for an Easter lunch or dinner, or for a child's birthday party.

Things You'll Need

• Square napkin

Instructions

1. Fold your napkin in half length-wise twice so that it forms a long rectangle.

2. Fold the left and right sides of the rectangle up to meet in the center, forming a point at one end.

3. Turn the napkin over. Fold the left and right corners down to meet in the center, forming a diamond shape.

4. Fold the left and right sides of the diamond to meet in the center, forming an inverted kite shape. Press gently.

5. Turn the napkin over. Fold the bottom point of the napkin up so that it is one inch above the center of the napkin. The napkin should now resemble an upside down triangle.

6. Turn the napkin over and rotate it so that the tip of the triangle is pointing up instead of down.

7. Fold the left side of the napkin over, slightly past the center.

8. Fold the right side of the napkin over and tuck the tip into the pocket formed by the left side of the napkin, holding the whole thing together.

9. Stand the napkin upright, opening the bottom to form a base. Separate and fluff the "ears."

Tips & Warnings

• Solid-colored napkins work best when folding into decorative shapes, as patterned napkins can distract from the folds.

• Always starch and iron your napkins before folding them.
