Make your favorite music lover happy this New Year's Eve with a concert, either at home or out on the town.

    Attending a Concert

  1. Step 1

    Determine what genre of music you would like to hear on New Year's Eve.

  2. Step 2

    Get on the Internet to research what concerts will be taking place locally.

  3. Step 3

    Go to your favorite search engine and type in "music + city of your choice."

  4. Step 4

    Determine if you would like to travel to see a concert in another city like Las Vegas.

  5. Step 5

    Purchase tickets to the desired event as soon as possible, as New Year's events sell out quickly.

  6. Hiring a Musician

  7. Step 1

    Throw your own New Year's Eve party (see "How to Decorate Your House for a New Year's Bash").

  8. Step 2

    Place an ad in your local paper or get on the Internet to find a local band, singer or DJ.

  9. Step 3

    Go to your favorite search engine and type in "musician + city of your choice." If you're looking for a DJ, go to your favorite search engine and type in "disc jockey + city of your choice."

  10. Step 4

    Call up your local music store and ask for referrals for bands and/or DJs.

  11. Step 5

    Listen to tapes provided by the potential candidates, and make a hiring decision.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you've hired a DJ, consult him or her before the party and carefully select the music that will be played.
  • If hiring a musician is out of the question, considering buying some fantastic new CDs and becoming your own DJ for the evening.
  • There are many musicians out there looking for work, even on New Year's Eve.
