USB devices rely on power and drivers in order for a computer to recognize them.

Flash drives are used in USB ports to transfer information to and from the computer. If your flash drive is not working with the ports on your Dell computer, the problem could lie with one of two things: either your ports are not working properly or you don't have the right drivers for the flash drive. Updating your flash drive's driver is not a hard task. You can do it yourself with little hassle. If your USB ports aren't working properly, you will need to take the computer to a specialist to diagnose the problem.
