Xbox 360 controllers can be programmed to different presets depending on the game.

Setting up controllers to work with an Xbox 360 console enables gamers to use them on their 360 consoles. Gamers can also customize the button mapping for their controllers for specific games. Each game will have several presets for the controller mapping that gamers can choose from to be as comfortable as possible while playing their Xbox 360 games.

Instructions

  1. Connect a 360 controller to the console

      Turn on the Xbox 360 console.

      Wired: Plug the USB connector into the port on the console.

      Battery Pack: Connect the USB connector to the console and the other end of the charge cable to the controller.

      Press the Xbox button on the controller. When the LED on the controller and the corresponding LED on the console light up, the controller is connected to the console.

    Customize button mapping

      Insert a game disc into the console. Start the game.

      Access the options menu in the game.

      Select controller settings.

      Change the settings so it is comfortable to the gamer.
