How to Copy AOL Internet Mail to a Desktop

Copy and save AOL email messages to your desktop.

AOL offers free email accounts to everyone who wants one. Benefits of AOL email include industry leading spam-detection, protecting your account from unwanted emails. With an AOL email account, you can then send and receive emails. Any email that you clicked on and viewed is sent to the "Old" folder after it is read. You can copy AOL Internet emails to your desktop by saving the message from the toolbar.

Instructions

1. Launch AOL from the application icon on your desktop or by clicking "Start" from the System Tray, then clicking "Programs" and then "AOL."

2. Click "Read" from the top menu of the AOL toolbar.

3. Click on the "Old" or "Sent" tab.

4. Double-click the email you wish to copy to the desktop.

5. Click "File" from the top menu and then click "Save As."

6. Navigate to your desktop in the Save As dialogue box. Enter a file name for your email message and click "Save."
