How to Restore a Dell 9300 to the Original Settings
By Tyson Cliffton
Restoring your Dell 9300 Inspiron laptop to its original factory settings is a great way to erase your hard drive and start with a clean slate. The restoration process will help remove any viruses that have become deeply rooted in your computer that you haven't been able to get rid of through other methods. Restoring your computer to its factory settings is also a great way to speed up a slow computer. The restoration process will remove old, unnecessary files that are just taking up space on your hard drive, allowing you to store more personal data and install more programs.
Turn on your Dell 9300 Inspiron laptop.
Hold the "Ctrl" button down and press the "F11" button when a blue bar with "www.dell.com" is displayed in the top part of the screen during the boot process. The PC Restore screen will appear on your screen.
Click "Restore" and then "Confirm." The system restore process will begin and should take no longer than 10 minutes.
Click "Finish" to restart your computer when the restoration process is complete.
Click "Next" after your computer restarts to begin the final stages of your system restore. The PC Restore program will finalize restoring your computer to its original factory settings and will automatically restart when the restoration is finished.
Click "OK" when the computer restarts to complete the restoration process.

Tips
- Back up all of your information before you begin the restoration process. Restoring your Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop will delete all of your personal data and any installed programs that currently exist on your computer. Make sure you have all of the installation discs for any programs that you want to reinstall on your computer after the restoration is complete. If you do not have the installation discs, you will not be able to reinstall the programs. Also, make sure you have the discs provided with any new hardware you added to your computer so you can appropriately install any software required to run the hardware.
- If you are not taken to the PC Restore program after holding down the "Ctrl" button and pressing "F11" in Step 2, let the computer finish booting up, and then restart it. Keep trying to access the PC Restore program until you arrive at it.
Warnings
- Do not shut your computer off when it is in the middle of restoring itself to its original factory settings. Doing so could cause your hard drive to become unstable or unusable.
