Rock Band 2 is a multi-instrument music game for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. With Rock Band 2 you can play guitar or drums, or sing along to 84 songs that come with the game. With friends, you can play as a band and complete the in-game missions to become a rock band. Rock Band 2 also has the largest selection of downloadable content (DLC) for any music game available. Most DLC for Rock Band 2 costs money or credits (depending on your games console), though there are 20 free tracks for you to download.

Turn on your games console with the Rock Band 2 disc inserted and controllers connected.

Enter the "Rock Band Music Store" from the menu. On an Xbox 360 this connects via the Xbox Live Marketplace. On a PlayStation 3, it connects via the PlayStation Store, and on a Wii this connects through the Wii Shop Channel. Typically you pay for new downloads or downloadable packs using Microsoft Points, PlayStation credits or Wii Points.

Browse the tracks for songs that cost "0 Credits." These are the free tracks available to you. The following Rock Band 2 songs can be downloaded for free, as of August 2010: "Sons and Daughters" by The 88, "No Regrets" by Authority Zero, "Prequel to the Sequel" by Between the Buried and Me, "Bounce" by The Cab, "Get it On" by The Chevelles, "Give It to Me" by The Cocktail Slippers, "Database Corrupted" by Dealership, "I Wanna Be Your Man" by Endeverafter, "Ashes to Fire" by The Ghost Hounds, "Young" by Hollywood Undead, "The Feeling" by Kutless, "If I Ain't Got You" by The Len Price 3, "I'm Gone, I'm Going" by Lesley Roy, "Burn You Down" by Opiate for the Masses, "Magnetic Baby" by Semi-Precious Weapons, "Like a Fool" by Shaimus, "Crazy Tuesday" by Thenewno2, "The Time Is Wrong" by Tickle Me Pink, "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures" by Underoath and "I.V." by X Japan.

Select the track you desire, then select "Download" to download the free content.
