How to Test Graphic Card Memory

Test your graphic card memory.

Unless you have built a computer for yourself or have replaced your graphic card, you may not know the specifics of the hardware. If you are interested in testing how much memory your graphic card is capable of using, there is a very simple way to do this. Testing your graphic card memory can help determine whether you want to upgrade it, or it can help you troubleshoot a slow computer to see whether the card is the problem.

Instructions

1. Right-click your desktop and click "Properties" in the menu that appears. This will cause a dialog box to open.

2. Click the "Settings" tab.

3. Click "Advanced."

4. Click "Adapter."

5. Click "Graphics Properties."

6. Click "Information." Find the number beside "Memory Size." This is the size of your graphic card memory.
