How to Allow Skype to Update

Communicate with others via Skype.

Skype is an instant messaging and telephony application that allows you to communicate with others over a network. New versions of the software are continually released and include new features and improved performance. Skype includes a feature that allows you to receive a notification when a new version is available, then download and install it automatically. The feature ensures that you always have the latest version installed on your computer without having to manually check for updates.

Instructions

1. Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the Skype application, then click "Options." This opens the "Options" window.

2. Click the "Advanced" tab on the left side of the "Options" window.

3. Click the check boxes labeled "Notify me" and "Automatically download and install it" to enable the options.

4. Click "Save."
