Instructions

  1. Using non-heated rollers

    • 1

Wash your hair and dry it with a towel.

    • 2

Massage setting lotion or spray curl spray into your wet hair. Comb it so that the curling agent is distributed all the way through your hair.

    • 3

Section your hair using a comb. Make smaller sections, as it will be easier to achieve a good curl if there is less hair on the roller. This type of roller produces a soft, spiral curl. If you put too much hair on a single curler you will not get a curl, but a wave that will fall out and you won't have a curl at all.

    • 4

Starting at the crown of your head, roll your hair onto the curler. Starting at the end of the section of hair you have chosen hand roll inward. Bend the ends of the curlers in toward the center of the curler. Repeat this for all sections.

    • 5

Allow your hair to dry. You can either let your hair dry naturally overnight, or you can sit under a dryer for 20 to 30 minutes. Do not use a hand-held dryer, as it is difficult to achieve a fully dried curl with this device. Once your hair is dry, carefully unroll the curlers out and tousle your hair with your fingers to separate the curls. Style as desired.

    Using heated rollers

    • 6

Wash your hair. Towel dry the hair and massage setting lotion or curl spray into your hair. Comb to evenly distribute lotion or spray.

    • 7

Dry your hair with a blow dryer. Flip your head over and blow dry your hair until it is mostly dry, but still has a little dampness left, as this will help your curls set.

    • 8

Heat the rollers as directed by the hot roller instructions.

    • 9

Section your hair into small sections and starting at the crown of your head roll it onto the rollers. Start at the ends and roll in toward your scalp. Bend the ends of the rollers into the middle of the roller. Repeat this for all the sections.

    • 10

Allow the curlers to cool down to room temperature. Unroll the rollers and shake your hair out. Tousle the curls with your fingers to separate the curls. Style as you desire.

Tips & Warnings

  • While you can use a hand-held dryer to dry your hair on this type of roller, it takes a very long time (one to two hours.) It is best to dry your hair on these curlers overnight or to sit under a dryer cap for 20-30 minutes, as advised.
