Surfing the Internet via multiple computers remotely throughout the house is one of the benefits of the Linksys WET54G Router. This router is from the Cisco family of routers. Programming the Linksys WET54G may seem intimidating, but it is not difficult and in fact can be done within 15 minutes.

Instructions

      Connect to the Internet using your wired network.

      Load the Setup CD into your computer. The setup application will launch automatically.

      Click "Setup."

      Click "Next."

      Click the name of the bridge you are installing in the "Selection" field. If this is the only bridge in your network, this is the only one that will appear.

      Type admin in the "password" field, then click "enter."

    • 7

      Choose either the "Infrastructure" or "Ad-Hoc" for your wireless mode. If you wish to network with computers on your wired network, choose "Infrastructure."

      Type the name for your network in the "WB Name" field. The IP settings screen will launch.

      Select "Automatically obtain an IP address (DHCP)." A summary of your previous selections will launch.

    • 10

      Review your selections. Select "Yes" to save your settings.

    • 11

      Select "Exit." The screen will populate with the following message. "Congratulations, The Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge is now successfully configured for your network."
