How to Create Zip Files on Mac OS X

Users can create ZIP files from the Finder on Mac OS X computers. ZIP files are compressed and take up less space on a disk. Smaller file sizes are an advantage when transmitting files online or when saving backups of files. You are able to make a ZIP file from single files, multiple files, folders of files or multiple folders of files.
