How to Program a Comcast Remote With a Sylvania TV

Comcast cable remotes can be used with a Comcast cable box and a television set, allowing you to get rid of the remote that came with the television set. As with other universal remote controls, Comcast controls have codes that allow you to program the remote with different brands of television sets, such as Sylvania TV. Entering the right Sylvania TV code at the right time during the programming process allows you to use the Comcast remote with the Sylvania TV.

Instructions

1. Turn the TV set on via the TV's remote control or the TV's “Power” button.

2. Press “TV” on the Comcast remote. Then, press and hold “Setup.” The “TV” button found on the remote blinks twice. Release the “Setup” key after the “TV” button blinks twice.

3. Enter the code “0030,” “0054” or “0171” using the Comcast remote's number buttons.

4. Aim the Comcast remote at the TV. Press “Power.” If the TV shuts off, it is programmed properly. If the TV stays on, repeat Steps 1 through 3, trying a different code listed in Step 3. Repeat the process until the remote is properly programmed.
