A wireless Bluetooth mouse

Unlike a traditional wired mouse, the Bluetooth mouse "pairs" with the computer's Bluetooth signal wirelessly. One advantage is that this type of mouse frees up a USB port on your computer. Another advantage is that the problem of a mouse cord being too short is no longer an issue. Once connected, most Bluetooth mice remain paired to the computer until the mouse is shut off or the computer Bluetooth is disabled.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold down the mouse's power button until the unit's infrared sensor blinks, or slide the switch to the off position if the mouse has a switch. If your mouse does not have a switch, proceed to Step 2.

    • 2

Click on the Bluetooth icon on your desktop to bring up a menu of options. On Windows PCs, it is at the bottom right of the screen along with a selection of other icons.

    • 3

Select "Turn off Bluetooth" or "Disable" from the list of options. If the Bluetooth mouse is listed under the "Devices" heading in this menu, click on the listing to open "Mouse preferences." Select "Remove device." This option may not be available on all versions of Bluetooth mice. Turning off the Bluetooth on the computer will disconnect the mouse.
