Stream TV shows from network stations' websites . Streaming video has become popular for user-submitted sites and is now being used for "On Demand" broadcasting of network shows. TV networks have their own websites where you can find episodes of your favorite TV shows to play from your broadband connection. These sites can get congested, causing the web pages to load slowly. Some sites also have video advertisements playing on the side of the screen that can contribute to slow loading and navigation, making a broadband connection valuable.

Download TV shows from download websites. Downloading a TV show allows you to obtain a file from a website that you get to keep on your computer's memory to watch whenever you want. Initially, downloading the file takes Internet bandwidth, so having a faster connection will make the downloading process faster but, once you have downloaded the file, you no longer need an Internet connection to watch the TV show.
