How to Remove Skate Wax Off Concrete
Wax is used to make sliding a smoother and simpler process for skateboarders. After skateboarders have been practicing their tricks on cement railings all day, a new layer of wax needs to be applied to the base of the board. While skateboarders need to be careful when applying the wax, some can slip onto the concrete. It is important that skaters remove the wax from the concrete, as it is slippery when it dries and others can fall and get hurt.

1
Locate the wax that needs to be removed from the concrete. Use the paint scraper to remove large chunks of the wax from the concrete. Scrape in a motion that's parallel to the concrete surface, ensuring that you don't scratch the concrete in the process.
-
2
Pick up the scraped wax using a dustpan and a broom. You can apply some pressure to the broom when you are sweeping over the wax to loosen it up. Brush away any loose wax before continuing.

3
Use a portable power washer or steam cleaner to loosen the last bit of wax on the concrete. The hot water or hot steam will start melting the wax, making removal easier.
-
4
Use a soft cloth to remove the newly melted wax off the concrete. It may not be completely melted, but it will be soft enough to remove from the concrete. Use the paint scraper if you need to.
-
5
Use the broom and dustpan to remove any wax shavings or residue that may be left over after the removal process has finished. Make sure there is no more wax left on the concrete, as wax will melt in the sun and become a hazard.
