HouseCall could stop a virus infection from damaging your computer.

HouseCall is a free online virus scanning utility distributed by Trend Micro, the maker of PC-Cillin and Trend Micro Internet Security. Historically, HouseCall has been difficult to use with the Firefox web browser, requiring the installation of plug-ins and prompting some users to try other antivirus products or use Internet Explorer instead. Trend Micro has released a new version of HouseCall and it is designed to be easier to use with browsers such as Firefox. Once you have successfully downloaded HouseCall to your computer with Firefox, it runs as a separate application and no longer requires special steps to enable Firefox to work with it.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Firefox and browse to the Trend Micro HouseCall website (see Resources). Click the "Download HouseCall 7.1 (32-bit)" link if you are running a 32-bit version of Windows. A 64-bit version of HouseCall is also available from this same page. After clicking the link, the browser changes to a new page asking if you want to try Trend Micro Internet Security as a free trial.
