Instructions

  1. Zoe Saldana's Curled Side Chignon

    • 1

Apply a curl-enhancing cream to the hair and distribute evenly throughout.

    • 2

Part the hair on the side. Curl the bottom half of the hair with a 1- to 2-inch barrel curling iron.

    • 3

Gather the curls to the opposite side of the head from the part. Pin the curls in a loose bun and leave some curls hanging around the face.

    • 4

Spray the hair with hairspray and top with a shine spray. Smooth the bangs and leave them side-swept across the face.

    • 5

Wash the hair. Apply a volumizing mousse evenly throughout the hair, scrunching at the top for more volume.

    • 6

Blow dry the hair with a diffuser to enhance your natural curls. Twist the curls around your fingers while drying to add more definition.

    • 7

Use a curling iron with a barrel width that is similar to the width of the natural curls that have formed. Curl the hair in 1-inch sections.

    • 8

Apply a shine serum to the hair. Spray with hairspray to hold the curls in place.

    Sienna Miller's Beachy Curls

    • 9

Wash the hair and apply a volumizing mousse evenly throughout. Work the mousse through the hair with your fingers, slightly scrunching at the roots.

    • 10

With a round brush, blow dry the hair while on the highest heat setting. Use the brush to add curls and volume by pulling the hair up and spinning it down the brush while you dry it.

    • 11

Curl the hair with a 1/2-inch barrel curling iron. Hold the curling iron upside down, so the handle is towards the ceiling. Wrap 2-inch sections of hair around the barrel and clamp closed, holding for several seconds. Alternate wrapping the hair in different directions for a look that is not uniform.

    • 12

Apply a texturizing balm throughout the hair with your fingers. Separate the curls and rub the balm on strands to create a day-at-the-beach tousled look.
