How to Setup a Wireless Print Server
A wireless print server can manage print jobs from all of the computers on your wireless network. It can also be used to make multiple printers available to your network, if necessary. If you have a network printer you'd like to wirelessly share between several computers, a wireless print server is an effective way to handle multiple print jobs at once.
Instructions
-
-
1
Connect your print server to your wireless router with an Ethernet cable.
-
2
Connect the network printer to the print server, if it's a wired printer. Wireless printers will be automatically detected as long as they're turned on.
-
-
3
Plug in the print server and insert the installation disc into your computer. The configuration wizard should start automatically. Double-click on the installation icon if it doesn't.
-
4
Configure the wireless print server by following the wizard prompts. Enter your SSID (network name) and network password when prompted. Click through the wizard until you reach the end.
-
5
Remove the Ethernet cable you used to configure the print server and open a test document to print.
-
6
Print the document and select the print server as your default printer.
-
7
Run the installation disc on your other networked computers so they can also send print jobs to the server.
