How to Remove Roxio on a Dell
Roxio is a media player and is used to burn CDs and DVDs, back up data, convert audio files, make slide shows and for other functions. Roxio is preinstalled on many Windows computers. You can remove Roxio on a Dell through "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel and by making changes to the Windows Registry.

Click "Start" and type "MSCONFIG" in the search field. Click the "Startup" tab and select the "Disable All" button. Click "Apply," then OK. Click the restart button.

Click "Start" and "Control Panel." Click "Programs and Features" and "Programs." Find any Roxio or Sonic products in the list. Click "Uninstall" or "Remove" for each one.

Close all programs. Click "Start" and click "Control Panel." Click the "Appearance and Personalization" link. Click "Show hidden files and folders." Under hidden files and folders, select "Show hidden files, folders and drives." Remove the check mark from the check box, "Hide extensions for known file types." Remove the check mark from the check box, "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)." Click "Apply" and "OK."

Click "Start" and "Computer." Click "Hard Disk Drive C:" "Programs" folder and right click on the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete." Click the "Common Files" folder and right-click on the "Roxio Shared" folder and select "Delete."

Click "Start" and "Computer." Click the "Hard Disk Drive C:" "Users," "Username," "App Data," "Local" and right click on the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete."

Click "Start" and "Computer." Click the "Hard Disk Drive C:" "Users," "Username," "App Data," "Local" and right click on the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete." Click left arrow button on the top left to go back one screen and click the "Roaming" folder." Right click on the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete." Close the window by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner.

Right click on the "Recycle Bin" icon on the desktop and click "Empty Recycle Bin." Click "Start" and type "regedit" in the Search field and press "Enter." Click on "File" in the top left corner of the Windows Registry Editor. Click "Export" and make sure "Export range "ALL" is selected. Give the file a name and location and click "Save."

Click "Start" and type "regedit" in the Search field and press "Enter." Click the + sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder on the left side. A list of folders will expand. Click the + sign next to the "Software" folder. Right-click on the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete." Right click on the "Sonic" folder and select "Delete." Click the -- sign next to the "Software" folder to close this list. Click the -- sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER to close the folder.

Click the + sign next to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder and the folder will expand. Click the + sign next to the "Software" folder and then right click on the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete." Locate the "Sonic" folder, right click and select "Delete." Close the Windows Registry Editor by clicking the "X" on the top right corner.

Click "Start," the arrow next to "Shutdown" and "Restart."
