How to Make Simple Pillow Cases
The right pillowcase can help to pull an interior decorating theme together. Pillowcases also help keep pillows clean. Whether you plan to sleep on your pillows or use them purely for decoration, you can make simple pillowcases out of decorator fabric. With novice or expert sewing skills, make pillowcases in a short time to use on a bed or a couch.

1
Iron the fabric to remove all wrinkles. Measure and cut two 33-inch by 23-inch rectangles from the fabric.
-
2
Place the two fabric rectangles together with right sides facing each other. Match the corners and edges perfectly and pin the rectangles together with the straight pins.
-
-
3
Stitch the two long sides together and one short edge with the sewing machine, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Remove the pins.
-
4
Turn the raw edge of the unstitched short side over 1/2 inch and press this fold with the iron. Turn the edge over again another 1/2 inch and press the fold again. Pin this fold in place with the straight pins.
-
5
Stitch the fold in place, sewing two lines of stitching. Stitch the first line of stitching 1/8 inch away from the edge and stitch the second line of stitching 1/8 inch to the left of the folded inner edge.
-
6
Remove the pins and turn the pillowcase right side out. Press the pillowcase a final time to finish.
