1
Wash the doll's hair with baby shampoo and gently rinse out the shampoo.
-
2
Spread a mixture of fabric softener diluted with water into the doll's hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse it out. This acts as a conditioner for the doll. Let the hair dry.

3
Spray the doll's hair with a wig spray meant for untangling. You can find this at most wig shops or beauty supply stores. Leave the spray in; don't wash it out.
-
4
Part the hair into sections and work a wide-toothed comb slowly through each section, starting from the bottom up. For any tough sections that are particularly knotted, brush a toothbrush over the hair to smooth it out.
-
5
Braid the hair into two plaits to keep it from tangling again and secure it with two small hair bands.

Tips & Warnings
If some of the hair is too knotted to salvage, snip off the bottom with a pair of scissors.
Don't use regular conditioner on the doll's hair, as this can attract and collect dust.
