How do I Open an Acer 5315 Notebook?
To upgrade the hard drive or memory on your Acer Aspire 5315 notebook, you must open the correct compartment within the base of your laptop as its bottom faces upwards. Usually, a laptop has much more delicate components inside it than a desktop computer, so if you have experience in working with desktop systems, exercise much more caution when operating on your laptop.
Instructions

1
Disconnect your laptop from its power source and remove the battery.
-
2
Flip your laptop upside down so the base faces up.
-
-
3
Remove the captive screw from the hard drive compartment located at the front end of the base if you want to upgrade your hard drive. Lift off the panel to expose the laptop’s integrated drive.
-
4
Remove the four screws holding down the large panel on the right side if you want to upgrade your memory. Lift the panel with your finger by levering it against the groove near your memory. Acer Aspire 5315 notebooks have the CPU and other components besides the memory all in one panel, so proceed with caution when opening this panel. It exposes many other parts of your computer to free air and potential problems if you don’t use caution.
