How do I Hang Art on Cubicle Walls?

A cubicle is a partition of a greater area given to an individual to provide a separate place to perform their work in without using costly walls and doors. If you have your own cubicle you will know that they are generally anonymous and not very stylish. You can spruce up your cubicle walls by hanging some posters of attractive artwork that will help motivate and relax you. Even if you are not allowed to damage your cubicle walls you can follow these steps because they won’t mar the property.

Things You'll Need

  • Soft cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Poster adhesive strips
  • Clean the wall of the cubicle where you have chosen to hang the art. Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or oils that are on the wall.

  • Place a poster adhesive strip on the back of the poster, in each of the corners. The strips should be running vertically, not horizontally in each corner.

  • Peel back the protective backing on each of the strips to reveal the adhesive. Be careful not to pull the strips off the artwork as you remove the backing paper.

  • Hang the art against the cubicle wall on the cleaned area and smooth it out to remove and bubbles or wrinkles.

  • Apply pressure to each of the strips, rubbing them vigorously for at least 30 seconds each to create a secure bond.

Tips & Warnings

  • Hang your art in your cubicle so it is visible when you are sitting down but not too far down that you will have to strain downward to see it when standing.
  • Do not put up offensive or inappropriate art in your cubicle if your workplace disapproves of it.
