How to Teach Children's Cooking Classes at Home
There are many pros and cons to teaching a children's class in your house. One of the pros is that the informal setting will allow you to become more comfortable with each other and have a good time as you teach, but a downside of this is that the children may be more difficult to control. In order to maintain control and guide your class along smoothly, prepare weekly themes that are captivating and allow the children to assist the process as much as possible.

1
Prepare in advance. Have all of the ingredients on hand and laid out on the counter, ready to be used so that there is less waiting time.
-
2
Set up multiple work stations around the kitchen. When you work with children, there should be little instruction and a lot of action, so create places where everyone can get involved.
-
-
3
Include steps that are easy for children to do and not dangerous, such as cutting with a sharp knife. Children can mix, knead, braid, shape, pour and cut soft items with a dull knife.
-
4
Choose recipes that have a short cooking time, such as fondue, omelets, pancakes and pizza, so kids can take home and enjoy their creations.
-
5
Keep groups small so that all of the kids get individual attention and can easily get involved.
