Popcorn is a winner of a snack for many reasons: it is low in fat and calories, it is fast and easy to make and most of all, it tastes good! If you are out of ready-made microwave popcorn bags, but you have some kernels and a simple brown paper bag on hand, you can easily make your own popcorn and be crunching away in just minutes. Things You'll Need

  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • Brown paper bag
  • Kernels
  • Microwave

Instructions

      Grease the sides of the brown paper bag with butter.

      Toss in a few small handfuls of popcorn kernels.

      Roll down the top of the paper bag tightly and place in the microwave.

    • 4

      Microwave on high for two to four minutes, or until popping has slowed down to about one pop every few seconds.

Tips & Warnings

  • What looks like a small amount of kernels can quickly become a tremendous amount of popcorn. To be on the safe side so your popcorn does not explode out of the bag, only fill the bag a few inches of kernels high at the most.
