How to Install Autofill

Autofill is an easy way to register personal information on websites.

You might sometimes stumble upon websites that require you to fill in a registration form to use the site. There is an easy way to fill in those forms: a form autofiller. Autofillers will automatically fill in your personal information with one click after you have created a profile with the software. Use autofill only with websites you trust. Some sites might misuse your personal information.

Instructions

Autofill for Mozilla Firefox

1. Visit Mozilla's autofill download page for Firefox (see Resources). This download is an add-on for the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

2. Click the green "Add to Firefox" button at the top of the page. A pop-up will display after a few seconds. Click "Install Now."

3. Click the "Restart Firefox" button on the top-right of the new dialog box that displays after you have installed the download. The Firefox autofill feature is installed and ready for use.

Autofill for Internet Explorer

1. Visit Cnet's Internet Explorer autofill download webpage (see Resources). This is a free software download for an Internet Explorer autofiller. You must have WinZip or WinRAR to extract and install the download.

2. Click the link labeled "Download Now" at the top next to the green graphic with an arrow. A pop-up will display.

3. Click the second radio button labeled "Save File" and "OK." Double-click the downloaded file (ieautofill.zip).

4. Right-click setup.exe in the WinZip or WinRAR interface window, then click "Extract...." Click "Desktop" in the left panel at the top and "UnZip" on the bottom right.

5. Double-click setup.exe from your desktop. Click "Next" when the wizard appears. Read the terms of agreement. If you accept, click the first radio button labeled "I accept the agreement," then click "Next" four more times. Click "Install" and "Finish."

General Form Auto Fill

1. Visit Form Auto Fill's download webpage (see Resources). This software download is free to try for 15 days and works with Internet Explorer, Maxthon, and MSN Explorer browsers.

2. Click the red "Download Now" button in the middle of the page. A pop-up will automatically display after a couple of seconds. Click the "Save File" button.

3. Double-click the file (faf.exe) when it is downloaded. Click "Run" and "Next."

4. Read the terms of agreement. If you accept them, click the first radio button labeled "I accept the terms." Click "Next" twice and "Install." The software will install after a few minutes. You might need to click "Yes" if Windows prompts you for permission to install the file.

5. Click "Close." The software is now installed on your system.
